In checking archives and old catalogs of the Champion Tool Company this hammer can be found dating back to 1896. It was original equipment and a very popular style of farrier's hammer. After much research and market testing we sank the die for the manufacture of this much sought after hammer. It is fitted with a CUSTOM HANDLE and presented as it was in the 1800's as fully polished. Its unveiling took place at the AFA Convention in '84 and sold out by the second day of the five day event. After sales in the U.S., Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, France and elsewhere it has become one of the most highly regarded hammers on the market today, worldwide!

2 pound Brass Heel Cutting Hammer

This brass hammer cuts heels off faster and cleaner with no damage to hardies. The 2 pounder is for lighter plates. The hammer is fitted with our large custom handle, just what you need for drive-in studs!

3 pound Brass Heel Cutting Hammer

Same properties as the 2 pound hammer, but used more for heavier saddle horseshoes.Also fitted with our large custom handle.

Custom Hammer Handles

Our custom hickory handles are thinned in the neck to help absorb concussion instead of transferring it to the elbow and wrist. The grip is designed to rest squarely in the hand without using excess pressure to control the sideways tilting or rolling of the hammer and thus aid in making more level blows. These handles are available in 3 sizes, small, medium and large, and are being used successfully in many brands of hammers.
